He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Steffen and Gunilda Steffen (Lake); his daughter Amy Clay; his parents-in-law, Peter and Bertha Maiers; his siblings, Vincent Steffen (Betty), Harry Steffen (Marcella) and MaryAnn Feltes (Don); and his in-laws, Joseph Maiers (Shirley), Bernie Maiers (Connie), Dave Maiers, Annie Krapfl (Dave), Rosie Helle (Greg) and Vernie Bockenstedt.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Catherine Maiers (Katie); his children, Sherri Steffen, Pat Steffen (Patty), Mike Steffen (Joan), Sandy Klein (Daryl) and Susie Schmitt (Tom); his son-in-law Greg Clay; his grandchildren, Angie Colony, Amanda Jones (Matt), Christie Steffen (Randy), Kyle Steffen (Justine), Amber Feldmann (Josh), Ashley Lansing (Jacob), Jerry Sigwarth (Meggan), Stacey Bryson (Mitch), Nick Klein (Nicki), Katlin Klimesh (Greg), Scott Klein (Kaitlyn), Tracy Rubner (Josh) and Alexis Clay; his great grandchildren, Greyden, Shyah, Avianna Colony, Madison, Avarie, Brieya, Emerlie, Fynnlie Jones, Blake, Nolan Steffen, Caleb, Jonah, Micah Sigwarth, Ellie Bryson, Decklan, Sawyer Klein, Croix, Rowan Klimesh, Savannah, Alyvia and Devon Rubner; his brother Herb Steffen (Norma); and his sisters-in-law, Maggie Bockenstedt, Carol Lattner and Diane Maiers.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Kramer Funeral Home (750 12th Ave SW, Dyersville, IA 52040). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Cathoic Church (103 S Andres St, Luxemburg, IA 52056). A burial will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Cemetery South Andres.
