He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Soderstrum and Sada Soderstrum (Murphy); his siblings, Guy Jr., Weldon Soderstrum, Retta Soderstrum, Shirley Peterson and Ruth Ann Danner; and his brothers-in-law, Dick Danner, George Barnes and Ray Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Alta Smith of Boone; his children, Cheryl Randall (Mark) of Woodward and Kurt Soderstrum (Peg) of Boone; his grandchildren, Tyler (Jess), Alex (Kim), Jamie (Jordan), Erin (Wyatt) and Jessie; his great grandchildren, Roy, Dean and Blaine; and his siblings-in-law, Doris Soderstrum, Lois Barnes, Mildred Smith and Jerry Peterson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Boone or the Salvation Army of Boone.
