He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Steffen and Evelyn Steffen; his mother-in-law Theresa Kass; his grandson Paul Okeke; and his brothers, Leon (AnnaMae), Kenneth, Elmer and Donald Steffen.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his daughters, Laura Steffen of Dubuque and Lisa Okeke (Angelus) of New City; his grandchildren, Edward, Laurence and Mary; his siblings, David Steffen (Eileen) and Mary Kay Shanahan; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Steffen, Nancy Steffen, Vivian Steffen, Rose Hartung, Mary Agnes Kass, Vernon Kass and Noel Kurt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers a Loras Steffen memorial fund has been established.
