He was predeceased by: his parents, George "Bud" Goben and Elsie Goben (Nussbaum); his wife Helen Marshall; his siblings, Ken Goben and Lucille Chandler (Albert); and his son-in-law Donnie Gibson.
He is survived by: his children, Matthew Goben (Connie), Melody Gibson (Roger Magnette), Carolyn Smith and Marilyn Carter (Rick); his grandchildren, Nicki Schultz (Adam), Joshua Goben (Alysa), Summer Evans (Luke), Lindsey Gatson, Clint Smith (Amanda), Caleb Mumford (Nikki), Kiah Carter (Shane), Carly Carter (Garrett) and Haley Mumford (Dylan); his sister-in-law Pat Goben; and his close friend Laura Guidicessi. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren.
