He was predeceased by: his parents, Erhard Kroemer and Alberta Kroemer (Schroeder); his parents-in-law, Melvin and Jennie Steffens; his brothers, Robert and Gene; and his brother-in-law Bruce Steffens.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Steffens; his children, Tammy Mahmens (Scott) of Marion, John of Lowden, Linda Dare (Steve) of Moline, IL and Laurie Bascom (Jason) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Mitchell (Jana), Macauley (Nicole), Shawn, Brody, Kelsey, Gavin, Rylee and Sarah; his great grandchildren, Quinn and Blaire; his sisters, Georgie Greiner (Nick) of Oxford and Audrey Schreiber of Surprise, AZ; and his siblings-in-law, Christine Kroemer of Lowden and Joe Steffens (Karen) of Cedar Rapids.
Due to the COVID-19 regulations, there will be a family graveside service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Lowden with Rev. Daniel Redhage officiating.
