He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Hansen and Helen Hansen (Ehlers); his wife Judith Ann Fritz; his sons, Roger and Rolly Shady; and his brother Duane.
He is survived by: his children, Cheri Yarolem (Charles) of Monmouth, Natalie Schurbon (Brian) of Lost Nation, Darin Hansen (Stacia) of Oxford Junction and Randy Shady (Dixie) of Monticello; and his siblings, LaVonne Turner of Kansas City and Gerry Hansen (Kate) of Grand Mound.
