She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Orie Russell McKinney and Faye Allsup McKinney; her former husband Boyd H. Nelson; her husband George R. Schmidt, Jr.; her grandmother Café On Main Street; her children, Saundra Tucker (Wayne) of Lorimor, Darrell Nelson of Winterset, Marilyn Nelson of Winterset, Doris Jackson (Bobby) of Lorimor and Norma Decker (David) of Adair; her great great grandchildren, Paisley Kay Wicker and Baby Kay; her sister-in-law Mary Williamson; her close friend Muriel Johnston; her stepfather Percy McKinney; her siblings, LaDene Brown and Paul McKinney; her sister-in-law Letha Noehren; and her grandchildren, Garrett Harrison and Vicki Decker. She was also cherished by eleven grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Lorimor Lions Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Lorimor Church of God.
