It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Darrel Long of Lorimor, Iowa, born in Shannon City, Iowa, who passed away on November 15, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sydney Allen Long and Bernice Elizabeth (Bastow); and his wife Margaret Long. He is survived by: his former wife Linda K. Petty; his children, Yolanda (Tom Shields) of Des Moines, Merlyn Tucker of Clinton, Brian Long of Des Moines, Candace Ripperger (Alex) of Afton and Gailla McDonald (Jeff) of Norwalk; and his siblings, Charles Long (Helen) of Mt Ayr, Colleen Pickens (Wayne) of Oklahoma City, Okla and Rebecca Long of Des Moines. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid-19 concerns social distancing and masks will be required and the service will be livestreamed on Powers Funeral Home's Facebook page.
