He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Liz; his grandchildren, Jess Hubner, Brady and Reese; his children, Spencer Ellis Calvin (Renee), Bella, Collin Ellis Remi (Chelsea) and Mila; his siblings, Gary Hoffmann, Mary Bender (Dean), Betty Carlson, Dave Hoffmann and Joni Johnson (Mark); his parents, Don Hoffmann and Carma Hoffmann; and his siblings-in-law, Marv Carlson, Gloria Hoffmann and Pat Hoffmann. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the North Scott Athletic Boosters, or the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital, as Mark had great empathy for the little ones.
