He was predeceased by: his father Warren Petty; and his brother Paul Petty. He is survived by: his wife Marcia Petty of Long Grove; his son Brian Petty; his grandchildren, Neal and Hazel of Green Bay; his mother June Smith; and his siblings, Roy Petty and Gwen Adams of Des Moines.
