Marilyn June Sexton Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marilyn June Sexton of Lone Tree, Iowa, who passed away on November 10, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Nighbert and Clara Nighbert (Dauber); her husband Larry Hughston Sexton; her sisters, Nadine Pfister and Helen; her brother-in-law Mel Sissel; her siblings, DeWayne Nighbert and Carol; and her siblings-in-law, Bill Small, George, Althea Sexton, Maynard, Jean Sexton, John, Dorothy Sexton, Bill Sexton, Doris Ratliff, Ross Sexton, Paul Sexton and Bob Sexton.
She is survived by: her children, Cheri Sexton (Michael Wolfe) of Lone Tree, Cindy Elzey (Glenn) of Solon and Michael Sexton (Michelle) of Iowa City; her grandchildren, Chad Shield (Melissa), Jeni Hunnicutt (Addam Hillard), Stephanie Wainwright (Justin) and Dr. Shawn Sexton; her great grandchildren, Cade, Rylee Shield, Katelyn Maldonado, Maelyn and Landon Wainwright; her siblings-in-law, Don Pfister of Iowa City, Rosemary Sexton, Myrt Sexton and Laura Slach of West Branch; and her godchildren, Jerry and Kelly Graham. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Downey Cemetery (249 Buckeye Rd, West Branch, IA 52358).
