With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Harley Bloomquist of Lone Tree, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Harley left this world on March 23, 2025 at the age of 91, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley John and Irene Catherine Bloomquist (Smith); and his sister Rose Crone. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Caroline Bell of Lone Tree; his children, Jean Bloomquist of Benton Harbor, Michael Bloomquist (Jeanette) of Letts and Steven Bloomquist (Dawn) of Fruitland; his grandchildren, Stephanie Bloomquist, Allison Bloomquist (William Wells), Amber Bodman, Erin Kary (Jared), Mitchel Bloomquist, Anita Purdy (Zeke), Maxwell Bloomquist (Emily), Haley Bloomquist, Tara Wise, Cody Massey (Kayla), Dani Massey and Kaine Bloomquist; his great grandchildren, McKenna Fossen (Rick), Riley Swehla, Boston Garland, Tatum Costas, Payton Costas, Isabella Kary, Abigail Kary, Everett Purdy, Elliott Purdy, Emmett Purdy, Jimmy Bloomquist, Weston Wise, Brylee Wise, Keegan Massey and Avery Massey; his great great grandchild Fossen; and his sister-in-law Joyce Hartzler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services (603 2nd St, Columbus Junction, IA 52738). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Presbyterian Church of Lone Tree in memory of Jim.
