He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Slaughter and Helen Slaughter (Colbert); his wife Marla Gale Lantz; and his siblings, Judy Curtis (Danny) and Ronald Slaughter.
He is survived by: his sons, Randy Raymond Slaughter (Jan) of Lone Tree and Rodney Slaughter (Elizabeth) of Gallatin, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Eric Slaughter, Aaron Slaughter, Emma Slaughter, Cole Williams, Amelia Slaughter and Ian Slaughter; his siblings, Dave Slaughter (Jan) of Cedar Rapids, Keith Slaughter (Diane) of Iowa City, Rick Slaughter (Peggy) of Iowa City and Brenda Ewing (Joe) of Iowa City; and his sister-in-law Katie Slaughter of Amana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Gary.
