He was predeceased by: his parents, Oswald Kout and Victoria Kout (Rolfes); his brother Robert Kout; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Fitzgerald and Phillip Crittendon.

He is survived by: his wife Elaine Tessmer of Lone Tree; his children, Michele Blood (Richard) of Denver, Bruce Kout (Andrea) of Iowa City, Barbara Sample (William) of Plano and Marnie Buser (Daniel) of Lone Tree; his grandchildren, Morgan, Kennedi, Carson, Avery, Emily, Zoie, Sidney, Isabel, Ella, Jackson and Trey; and his siblings, Joseph Kout (Hazel) of Hazelton, Patricia Fitzgerald of Newton, Rose Crittendon of Newton and James Kout (Kelley) of Bowie, Maryland..
