He is survived by: his wife Sharon Wilson of Lone Rock; his grandson Brian; his daughter Becky Mawdsley (Dave) of Burt; his granddaughter Sarah Mawdsley of Burt; his siblings, Dave Maxson of Waterloo and Patricia Schmolt (Jim) of Cedar Falls; his nephews, Michael Maxson of Waterloo and David Maxson Jr. (Brittney) of Cedar Falls; his niece Dayln Maxson; and his uncle Gary Maxson. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
