She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Hughes and Lottie Hughes (Grinnell); her children-in-law, Al Mefferd and Shelley Holland; her siblings, Marcella Chamberlain (Hank), Ila "Dot" Graves (Harlow), Lyle Hughes (Veva), Donald "Mike" Hughes (Margaret), Clyde Hughes (Vera), Glen Hughes (Genevieve), Calvin Hughes (Esther) and Carl "Bucky" Hughes (Gladys); and her sister-in-law Marie Hughes.
She is survived by: her children, Deb Mefferd of Pocahontas, Scott Holland (Rachael) of Pomeroy, Michelle Johnson (Bruce) of Fort Dodge, Jack Holland (Mary) of Cheyenne, WY, Tony Holland (Ellie) of Johnston and Brad Holland (Joe Raetz) of Des Moines; her sister Lottie Nelson of Storm Lake; and her grandchildren, Shana Weidauer (Brent), Erika George (Bob Boudreau), Mindy Wellik (Jon), Nathan George (Matira Balsley), Josh Holland (Nikki), Jordan Mefferd, Jamie Johnson (Shaun), Shaun Holland, Callista Muzquiz (Manuel), Nick Holland (Ellie) and Taylor Rodriguez (Nik). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
