He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas V. Rich and Oleta Grace Rich (Smith). He is survived by: his wife Marcia Kay Hinz of Lockridge; his sons, Kyle Rich (Melody) of Sumner, IA, Kean Rich (Barb) of Mt. Pleasant and Kurt Rich (Jane) of Vinton, IA; his stepchildren, Kristine Norem of Marion, IA and Andrew Young (Deseree) of Marion, IA; his stepdaughter-in-law Jen Young of Cedar Rapids; and his brothers, Willis Rich (Helen) of Jacksonville, FL and Jim Rich of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren.
