She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Kliegl and Susan Kliegl (Besch); her husband Charles Berte; her brother Jerome Kliegl; and her parents-in-law, William Bernhard, Adam Berte (Dorothy), Margaret Laubenthal (Louis), John Berte, Alfred Berte and JoAnn Berte.

She is survived by: her children, Susan Bormann (Mark) of Livermore, Thomas Berte (Sharon) of Livermore, Sheryl Jacobson (Paul) of Ottosen and Carol Edge (David) of Ankeny; her grandchildren, Matthew Bormann (Nancy), Joseph Bormann (Val), Maria Zeman (Joel), Amanda Bousquet (Ryan), Elizabeth Reynolds, Peter Bormann (Cassi), Anna Olson (Brian), Calvin Berte (Kelly), Adam Berte (Katie), Jacob Berte (Sherri), Sarah Greinert (Matt), Bethany Schneider, Nathan Jacobson (Rachael), Samuel Jacobson (Alannah), Zachary Edge (Lindsey), Amy Edge and Ashley Edge; her sisters, Marilyn Bernhard of Bancroft and Carol Ulses (Tom) of Algona; and her siblings-in-law, Janine Berte of Livermore, Judy Berte of Algona, Edmund Berte (Mary Ann) of Algona, Nicholas Berte (Nancy) of Algona and Delores Arndorfer (Richard) of Bancroft. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
