She was predeceased by: her husband Harvey Gruis; and her siblings, John Nagel (Carrie), Henry Nagel (Sadena), Jennie Groen (Ben), Alice Groen (Orvel) and Annie Aeikens (Alfred).

She is survived by: her sons, Lloyd Gruis (Dianne) of Sibley, IA, Stanley Gruis of Mankato, MN, Kevin Gruis (Lorie) of Luverne, MN and Layton Gruis (Missy) of Adrian, MN; and her sister-in-law Ann Gruis of George, IA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other extended family.
