She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Stratemeier and Tena Stratemeier (Ebbinga); her husband Harry Balster; her children, Virgil Harris Balster and Peggy Sue Fritz; and her siblings, Jessie Funk, Fannie Gruis, Grace Russman, Marie Hassebroek, Margaret Bergman, Jake Stratmeier and William Stratmeier.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Lode (Richard) of Sioux Rapids, IA, Rosalie Arends (Arlan) of Little Rock, IA and Joyce Gengler (Brian) of Adrian, MN; and her children-in-law, Judy VerMeer of Lester, IA and Donny Fritz of Pipestone, MN. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; along with many extended family and friends.
