He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence McConaughy and Mary McConaughy (Parmenter); his former wife Jean Siefken McConaughy; his wife Donna Richert Shaffer McConaughy; his children-in-law, Brad Beardsley, Gary Dobbins and Terri McConaughy; his siblings, Dale McConaughy and Lucille Benedict; and his granddaughter Crystal Dobbins Allen.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Gotcher (Dean) of Herndon, KS, Janette Beardsley of Anamosa, Rosalie Bowers (Ivan) of Morley, Larry McConaughy of Anamosa, Karla Moreland (Tony) of Lisbon, Keevin Shaffer (Ronda) of Anamosa and Adrienne Dobbins of North Liberty. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren, plus one on the way; 2 great-great grandchildren; and loving nieces and nephews.
