He was predeceased by: his parents, Horatio Small and Christine Small (Smit). He is survived by: his wife Phyllis L. Beckman of Letts; his children, Elaine Gardner (Mike) of Carlisle, Keith Small (Deborah) of St. Louis, Evelyn Hollingworth (Jay) of Commerce City and Alicia Rigsby (David) of Denver, Colorado; his grandchildren, Matt Gardner, Caleb, Jordan Small, Tetiana Hollingworth, Meredith and Katharine Rigsby; and his sister Norma Van Ryswyk of Muscatine.
