With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Leonard Duryee of Leland, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Genard Duryee and Pearl Duryee (Backus); his son Adam Duryee; and his siblings, Ronald, Marvin, Darrel, Verne, Gordan, Jimmy, Wayne, Diane and Donna.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Duryee (Betty) of Leland, IA; his children, Kevin Duryee (Roseann) of Garner, IA and Susan Duryee of Altoona, IA; his grandchildren, Jenny Borcherding (Shane) of Sheffield, IA, Cory Duryee (Taylor Averhoff) of Owatonna, MN, Mariah Wheeler (Sabino Zuniga) of Altoona, IA and Jenna Wheeler of Altoona, IA; his great grandchildren, Wesley, Skylar, Taylor, Natalie, Avah and Julian; and his sisters, Barbara Woolworth of Cresco and Cherie Landers (Greg) of Greene.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Schott Funeral Home (505 N Clark St, Forest City, IA 50436). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Schott Funeral Homes-Forest City Chapel (505 N Clark St, Forest City, IA 50436).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Leonard Duryee memorial fund in care of the family.
