It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wendell Wiersma (Le Mars, Iowa), born in Orange City, Iowa, who passed away on May 6, 2019, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wiersma and Dorothy Wiersma; his former wife Arlene Wiersma; his father-in-law George A. Miller; and his sister-in-law Audrey Wiersma.
He is survived by: his wife Janet K. Haylett; his daughters, Michele Wiersma (Shane Hill) of Port St and Dr. Jackie Mosley (Wade) of Fayetteville, AR; his stepdaughters, Justine Hayslett (Jared Anderson) of Remsen, IA and Jackie Hayslett (Josh Schmitz) of Le Mars; his brothers, Gary Wiersma (Alice) of Sioux Falls, SD and Delbert Wiersma of Spirit Lake, IA; his mother-in-law Kathleen Miller of Lytton, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Laurie Bihrer (Dave) of Sac City, IA and Kerry Nelson of North Liberty, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Wendell's name to the Siouxland Humane Society.
