He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert J Thomas, Sr. and Vera Thomas (Woods); his sister Mattie Pearl Crockett; his brother-in-law Jack Crockett; his parents-in-law, Leo Wendl and Frances Wendl; his stepmother-in-law Alvina Wendl; and his siblings-in-law, Janice Wendl, Michael Wendl and Mark Wendl.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Wendl; his stepchildren, Jacqueline "Jackie" Tumbleson (Scott) of Marshall, Arkansas and Joe "Dale" Ward of Marshall, Arkansas; and also Joe Dale "Crockett" Ward of Marshall, Arkansas. He is also survived by cousins and in-laws.
