He was predeceased by: his parents, James Landis and Betty Landis (Hoskins); his parents-in-law, Neil and Eleanor Lewis; and his siblings, Frederick Landis, James Landis (Carolyn), Diane Landis and Barbara Lynch (Bob).

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Lewis of Le Mars; his children, Kathie McDermott (Chad) of Breda, IA, Frederick Landis (Kristi) of George, IA, Angela Von Hagel (Robert) of Le Mars, Stephanie Gengler (Jeff) of Merrill, IA and Stacey Galles (Matthew) of Remsen, IA; his grandchildren, Calvin McDermott (Erika), Dawson McDermott, Aaron McDermott, Alexis Landis, Austin Landis, Conner Von Hagel, Emily Von Hagel, Heather Von Hagel, Brandon Gengler, Brooklyn Gengler, Bracyn Gengler, Kaden Galles, Karsen Galles and Kenten Galles; and his siblings, David Landis (Sandy) of Galeon, OH, Sharon Bagozzi (Sam) of Sherrodsville, OH and Joanne Landis of Silver Lake, OH. He is also survived by several in laws, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home (780 12th St SW, Le Mars, IA 51031). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
