He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert 'Hattie' and Henrietta 'Hattie'; his daughter Sandra Hacker; his parents-in-law, Gerrit and Johanna Zomermaand (Niessink); and his brothers-in-law, Curtis Lund, Roger Lukken and Marc Chapman.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Zomermaand; his wife Mary Van Hill; his daughters, Melissa Netten (Larry) of Orange City, IA, Susan Van Hill of Des Moines, IA and Paula Madsen (Ted Sr) of Le Mars, IA; his son-in-law Gene Hacker of Sioux City, IA; his siblings, Alice Lund of Orange City, IA, Ann Van Hill of Orange City, IA, Esther Bouwman (Jim) of Rock Valley, IA and Milly Chapman of Le Mars, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Garald Zomermaand (Karen) of Polk City, IA, Henry Zomermaand (Sharon) of Maurice, IA, Jan Hughes (Bob) of Struble, IA, Chuck Zomermaand (Elaine) of Struble, IA and Bonnie Hunter (Ken) of Harris, IA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Zestos Shepherd Closet in Alton, Iowa.
