She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Wetzel and Anne Wetzel (Hough); her husband Jim Ortmann; her brother Jack Wetzel (Bill Wetzel); her in-laws, Cyril Ortmann (Rosemary), Irene Buetel (Clarence), Ethel Homan (Paul) and Bill Thommes; her great grandchild Brewer; and also, Edward Ortmann, Mary Ortmann and Anna Ortmann.
She is survived by: her children, Tom Ortmann (Lori) and Kathy Rollins (Mike) of Le Mars; her grandchildren, Jenni Brewer (Michael), Beau Ortmann (Jess), Heather Ortmann, Heidi Ortmann (Kyle), Cody Ortmann (Addison), Shannon Gerhardt (Sam), Trista Hodgson (Chris) and Kristina Fiedler (Justin); her great grandchildren, Ashby, Knox of Paige, J. T., Tyler, Dominick, Zachery, Kandis, Tayla, Tate, Kyler, Calvin, Landon, Daymien, Taelynn, Seth, Adriana, Andrew, Tron, Nevaeh, Drake, Mason, Sierra, Decklan, Riley, Jash, Tom and Cooper; and her sisters-in-law, Sister Eleanor Ann S. E. C. of Northfield, IL, Joan Thommes of Omaha, NE, Sister Alice Mary S. E. C. of Northfield, IL and Lynne Wetzel of Sioux City, IA. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the All Saints Catholic Parish - St James (109 6th Ave SW, Le Mars, IA 51031, USA). A prayer will be held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials can be made to Gehlen Catholic Schools and St. Croix Hospice.
