He is survived by: his wife Linda Smith (Kehrberg) of Le Mars; his children, Kimberly Spier (Russ) of Hartley, IA and Tait Smith (Elizabeth Korda Smith) of Woodland Hills, CA; his grandchildren, Jessica Fox (Eric) of Rochester, MN, Dr. Mallory Drenth (Nick) of Sioux City, IA, Elizabeth Brockshus (Andrew) of Sioux Falls, SD, Elyse Schwartz (Sam) of Glendale, CA, Ben Schwartz (Helen) of North Hollywood and Josh Schwartz (Julie) of West Hills, CA; and his great grandchildren, Mykah Fox, Diana Drenth and Allison Brockshus.
