He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphonse Meis and Marcelinda Meis (Alesch); and his siblings, Mark Meis (Phyllis), Larry Meis (Dorothy), Alene Scallon, Richard Meis and Mary Ann Rawley (James).
He is survived by: his wife Mary of Le Mars; his children, Kris Seely (John) of Big Horn, WY, Marcie Carlson (Bill) of Geneva, IL, John Meis (Susan) of Le Mars, Steve Meis (Jolene) of Le Mars, Phil Meis (Kate) of Clancy, MT, Dave Meis (Linda) of Le Mars and Ellen Boeke (Ken); and his brother-in-law Nick Scallon. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
