He was predeceased by: his parents, Gehard Olson and Kathryne Olson (Schluntz); his daughter-in-law Deb Olson; and his siblings, Arnold, Lloyd Olson, Miriam Wiebe, Elaine Jessen, Janet Campbell, Lou Ann Burns, Vivian Foxhoven and Ruth Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Melvin; his children, Dane Olson of Laurens, Julie Potter (Monty) of Laurens, Paul Olson (Teresa) of Jamestown and Erin Olson (Steve Schutz) of Laurens; his grandchildren, Lucas Olson, Paige Brincks (Nick), Rachel Potter, Phoebe, Siddha and Daphne Olson; his great grandchild Keelan Brincks; and his siblings, Bob Olson (Jan), Linda Rydstrom and Retha Harrington (Roger). He is also survived by three brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Rich's family requests that memorials be made in his name.
