With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Paul J. Sernett of Laurens, Iowa, born in Rolfe, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Sernett (Condon) and Jim Sernett; his siblings, Gene Sernett, Eileen Imming and Mary Beth Murray; his siblings-in-law, Alice Sernett, Mel Imming and Dale Murray; his cousin Leonard Sernett (Lorena); and his nephews, Steven and Michael Imming.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Sernett; his children, Mark Sernett (Kathy), Dan Sernett (Stephanie), Angie Kloenne (Mike), Jeff Sernett (Suzy), Lorena Sernett (Pedro) and Scott Sernett (Meg); and his brother Ken Sernett (Ann). He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home - Laurens (263 Ralston St, Laurens, IA 50554). A prayer was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 6:15 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church (11 SW 2nd St, Pocahontas, IA 50574). A burial was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at the Calvary Cemetery (44613 140th Ave, Laurens, IA 50554).
In lieu of flowers for remembrance of Paul's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to The Marian Home and Village, Fort Dodge, IA.
