He was predeceased by: his wife Alice; his parents, Jim Sernett and Alice Sernett; his sister Mary Beth Murray; his grandson Michael Sernett; his brothers-in-law, Mel Imming and Dale Murray; his nephew Steve Imming; and also, Frank and Sue Blazek.
He is survived by: his brother Joseph Eugene "Joe" Sernett, Jr.; his children, Sue Johnson of Albuquerque, NM, Mary Runneberg (Jim) of Laurens, Kathy Keane (Mike) of Dubuque, IA, Pat Sernett of Selah, WA, Barb Edmonds (Dan) of Sioux Falls, SD and Joe Sernett (Amy) of Omaha, NE; his siblings, Ken Sernett (Ann), Paul Sernett (Carol) and Eileen Imming; and his brother-in-law Frank Blazek (Mary Jane). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
