He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Kruse and Emma Kruse (Siebels); and his brother Daryl Kruse. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Bass of Laurens; his children, Randy Kruse (Jacky) of Polk City and Debra Riedel (Ben) of Mitchellville; his brothers, Duane Kruse (Anita) of Henderson, NV and Dennis Kruse (Arlene) of Palmer; his grandchildren, Mike Riedel (Christine), Jason Riedel (Carey), Ashley Penning (Ryan), Jeff Kruse (Kendra), Lindsey Rubino (Brad) and Amber Jahns (Mitch); and his great grandchildren, Chelsea Paul, Sherrie Bowden, Preston Riedel, Emmett Penning, Monroe Penning, Brighton Kruse, Lawson Penning, Giavanna Rubino, Robert Jahns, Lilianna Rubino and Sawyer Kruse. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, Don's family requests memorials be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church in Laurens, Iowa in Don's name.
