He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Vavra and Marjorie Vavra (Mann); his stepfather Leo; and his daughter Angie. He is survived by: his former spouse Leo A. Burns; his wife Carolyn Matya; his children, Carrie Simatovich of Palo, Dami Havran (Marty) of Cedar Rapids and Scott Simatovich of State Center, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Sadie Simatovich (Riley Claude), Samie Fitchett (Logan), Hawken Grimes and Adisyn Whaley; and his great grandchildren, Everly and Oaklyn.
