He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Theresa Whalen and Patrick Whalen of Hartford, SD.; his children, Andrew "AJ" Whalen and Reese; his girlfriend Janet Soper; his siblings, Christine Rich (Michael), Kathie Heim (Bill), Mark Whalen (Joy), Colleen Bassett (Troy), Mary Jo Prawer (Frank), Lisa Walter (William), Maria Hosley (Dan) and Bill Whalen (Lesta); the mother of his children Tammy Whalen Kremer; and his brothers, Michael (Roxanne) and Thomas.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Church of St. Mary (1030 Blaine St, Larchwood, IA 51241). A prayer was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:15 PM and on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 7:00 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
