She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Bontje and Johanna Bontje (Bakker); her husband Robert "Bob" Gacke of Mary's Catholic Church; her son Tommy Gacke; her siblings, Louis Bontje (Ellen), Jack Bontje (Shirley), Donald Bontje (Jean) and Janet Mlujeak (Gary); her brothers-in-law, Kermit Bjerke and Vern Vrooman; and her daughters-in-law, Julie Gacke and Kim Gacke.
She is survived by: her children, Jean Pottinger of Iowa City, IA, Rich Gacke of Davenport, IA, Lois Cramer (Ted) of Rock Rapids, IA, Mike Gacke (Nancy) of Madison, SD, Pat Gacke of Wentworth, SD, Ken Gacke (Carolyn) of Sioux Falls, SD and Scott Gacke (Emily) of Lake Andes, SD; and her sisters, Mary Bjerke of Bemidji, MN and Shirley Vrooman of Sioux Falls, SD. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dow Rummel Foundation, or Avera Hospice.
