He was predeceased by: his wife Carrie Boom; his parents, Louis Boom and Anna Boom; and his parents-in-law, Albert Maanen and Fannie Van Maanen (Reurink).
He is survived by: his children, Randy (Brenda Van Maanen) of Hills, Rhonda Meester of Sioux Falls, Ranae (Jason Johnson) of Luverne and Cheryl Edstrom of Luverne; his grandchildren, Jared Van Maanen of Hills, Justin (Amanda Van Maanen) of Hills, Dalton, Ashton Meester of Sioux Falls, Chase Johnson and Sydne Johnson of Luverne; his great grandchildren, Tess Maanen, Nate Van Maanen of Hills, Jackson Maanen and Samantha Van Maanen of Hills; his siblings, Chris (Carol Boom) of Larchwood and Judy (Wayne Cope) of Ankeny; and his brother-in-law James Van Maanen of Beaver Creek.
