He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Cavanagh and Marjorie Cavanagh (Miller); his wife Mary Ellen; his sister Mary Louise Ritcherson; his siblings-in-law, Thomas Tallman and Kathleen Milewsky; his nieces, Michelle and Bessie Rubenstein; and his nephew Brian Cavanagh.
He is survived by: his child Airedales; his brother Patrick Cavanagh (Marilyn) of Spartanburg; his children, Ross M Cavanagh III of Lansing, Sean Cavanagh (Michelle Kaiser) of Chicago, Kevin Cavanagh (Trish) of San Francisco and Molly Cummins (Michael) of Edwardsville, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Chloe, Abigail Cavanagh, Michael, Jane and Nora Cummins.
