He was predeceased by: his parents, Hjalmer Johnson and Irene Johnson (Slindee); his wife Marie Lou Ellefson of Savior's Lutheran Church; his daughter Audrey Johnson; and his brothers, Alton "Gene", Paul and Kenneth Johnson.
He is survived by: his sons, Perry Johnson of Waukon and Rick Johnson (Marsha) of Oelwein, IA; his stepgranddaughter Rheanon Leverington; his sister Janice "Red" Johnson of Lansing; his nephews, Kenny Johnson, Kirkland Ellefson and Kyle Johnson; and his niece Teletha Joyner.
