He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Matlock and Ruth Matlock (Allen); his wife Deanna Boyles; his son Bill Heinzeroth; his granddaughter Karmen Mercer; and his siblings, Hazel Murphy (Lawrence), Alberta Schoen (Russell), Zalia Nelson (Lloyd), Velma Weaver (Virgil), Lee (Betty) and Clinton Matlock (Vivian).
He is survived by: his stepchild Kim Ernst; his stepgrandchildren, Roy, Charlie Jr. and Opal; and his children, Roy Matlock, Sr. of Woodman, WI, Charles Matlock, Jr. of Illinois, Opal Hostert (Peter) of De Soto, WI, Kent Ernst (Jeannie) of De Soto, WI, Matthew Heinzeroth of Illinois, Crystal Heinzeroth of Illinois and Kim Anderson of Sandwich, IL. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
