She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Gander and Theresa Gander (Freilinger); her husband William L. Batteen; her grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jackson and Jamison Burke; and her stepchildren, William Batteen and Angela Simmer.
She is survived by: her daughter Phyllis Burke of Oelwein, IA; and her stepson Thomas Batteen of Box Elder, SD. She is also survived by six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
