He is survived by: his wife Laura Schaffer (Wernimont); his children, Stephanie O'Brien (Chris), Samantha Major (Josh) and Ryan Schaffer (Andrea); his grandchildren, Lily, Amber, Caitlin, Aiden, Roaran, Rylee and Avery; his siblings, Ed Schaffer (Joan) and Sue Janssen (Jim); and his mother-in-law Patricia Pike (Wernimont).
