He was predeceased by: his parents, Johann Lietz (John) and Anna Lietz (Bohlmeyer); his wife Mildred Reka Buse; his daughter Glenna Lietz; and his siblings, Henry, Edward, Wilbur Lietz, Amanda Saur, Dorothy Bloom, Alvena Hokanson, Alma Trimmer and Evelyn Meyer.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary Lietz (Elaine) of Lake City, IA and Wayne Lietz (Julie) of Breda, IA; his grandchildren, Chad Lietz (Aileen), Jennifer Bohm (Stuart), Michelle Farley (Alex), Rachel Naughton (Keith), Kim Onuma (Rob) and Paul Muellerleile; and his great grandchildren, Zachary Lietz, DJ Reiling and Austin Farley. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home (603 3rd St, Lake View, IA 51450). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church (115 2nd St, Lake View, IA 51450).
