Betty Wessman Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Wessman of Lake View, Iowa, who passed away on December 16, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Wessman to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Bennie Freese and Angie Freese (Tebben); her husband Jim Wessman; her significant other Gary Blessington; her parents-in-law, Wayne and Ethelene Wessman; her siblings, Eleanor Buse (Everett), Dot Nelson (Sid) and Raymond Freese; her nephew Phil Riedell; her great-nephews, Jeffrey and Rob Renze; and her close friend Barb Reiling.

She is survived by: her children, Tammy Smith of Lake View, IA, Kim Pudenz (Keith) of Auburn, IA and Jim Wessman (Tammy) of Lake View, IA; her grandchildren, Summer Meisheid (Allan) of Lake View, IA, Jared Smith (Heather) of Bedford, IA, Kayla Nieland (Nathan) of Breda, IA, Kennedi Pudenz of Auburn, IA, Kortney Webb (Jason), Carter Shedd of Manson, IA and Katie Breidert of Pleasant Hill, IA; her great grandchildren, Carter Frank, Kinnick, Hayden Fahrenkrog, Miah, Tessa, Faya Smith, Braxten, Jaxon, Marasyn Nieland, Aryiana and Alexia Webb; her sister Marjean Riedell (Mike) of Sac City, IA; her siblings-in-law, LaVon Freese of Lake View, IA, Marge Ebel of Mason City, IA and Steven Wojnicki (Donna); and her extended family, Brian Blessington (Liz) of Breda, IA and Jacque Blessington of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ (217 High St, Lake View, IA 51450).
