He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel McDowell and Ernest McDowell; his wife Betty Ann of Randall, Iowa.; his daughter Lori Lynn McDowell; his brothers, Robert and James McDowell; and his siblings-in-law, David Larson, Clinton Larson, Lawrence Larson and Thelma Potthoff.
He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Kay L'Hommedieu; his grandson Conner James L'Hommedieu; and his sister Joann Conley.
