He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barke and Dolores Barke (Peterson); his parents-in-law, Edward and Alice Otto; his brothers, Thomas and Daniel Barke; and his brother-in-law Roger Otto.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy Barke of Lake Mills, IA; his children, Sarah Barke of Cedar Rapids, IA and Michael Barke (Dawn Hansel) of New Hampton, IA; and his siblings, Bill Barke (Terri) of Torrance, CA, Nancy Harwood (Bruce) of Burlington, WI and Sally Klatkiewicz (Marty) of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home (902 E Main St, Lake Mills, IA 50450). A wake will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
