She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Underberg and Martha Underberg (Sanders); her husband David Michael Gergen; and her siblings, Dorothy Demery, Carol Hood, Ted Underberg and Lawrence Underberg, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Michael Gergen (Pam) of Columbia, MO and Lisa Sorlie (Donny) of Grand Marais, MN; her grandchildren, Alex Gergen, Maria Gergen, Katie Vander Heiden, Hannah Vander Heiden and John Vander Heiden; and her siblings, Margery Hobart, Robert Underberg, Tom Underberg (Linda), Mike Underberg (Louise), James Underberg and Jerry Underberg (Lynn). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Church - Alton (610 E 10th St, Alton, IA 51003). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
