With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bonita Darlene McChesney of Lake City, Iowa, who passed away on August 24, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Davis and Myrtle Davis (Brown); her husband Harold McChesney; her children, Bonnie Jean and Jimmy; her siblings, Viola Brown, Mable Rost and Leonard Davis; her grandson Robert Brown; and her son-in-law Larry Haynes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Judy Haynes of Manchester, IA, JoAnn Hammond (LaVerne) of Fredericksburg, IA, Brenda Summers (Glenn) of Glidden, IA and Becky O'Tool (Clancy) of Lake City, IA; and her grandchildren, Mindy Carr of Manchester, IA, Susan Beavers (Clarke) of Raleigh, NC, Michael Brown (Anita) of Des Moines, IA, Theresa Johnson (Todd) of Denver, IA, LaVerene Hammond Jr. of Standwood, WA, Christine Billingsley (Tom) of Janesville, IA, Glenn Summers Jr. of Irwin, IA, Steven Summers (Sara) of Churdan, IA, Cody Summers of Glidden, IA, Joshua McChesney (Presley) of Lohrville, IA, Brittany Schneider and R. J. Staben (Jared) of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family to be given to local organizations she was apart of and cherished.
