She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Charles Schaffner and Alma Schaffner (Faas); her children, Lee of Ladora and Pamela Ranfeld (Steve); her grandchildren, Justin of Guernsey and Maisey Ranfeld of Guernsey; her sisters, Evelyn Cover of North English and Charlene McIntyre of Cedar Rapids; her husband Dean; and her siblings, Naomi Voelkel, Velma McDowell and Cloyd Schaffner. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews.

Memorial contributions in Arva's memory may be designated to the Arva Border Memorial Fund.
